Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect?

In your first class you will learn to climb the ladder, jump from the platform, and do a trick called the “knee-hang” on the trapeze before backflipping into the net. If that sounds like a lot, don’t worry! Our professional coaches are world renowned and will teach you to do these tricks easily and safely. Do keep in mind that this is a very physical sport, and you will get quite the workout from it. Expect sore hands and muscles the next day, and come back again even stronger!

How many people can sign up for a class?

Open flying trapeze classes have a maximum of 10 people per class. Each class runs for two hours, unless there are fewer than 4 students in class, in which case the class runs for one hour.

Can I host a birthday party or other event featuring the trapeze?

YES! We are very happy to host your birthday party or other special event. It’s such a unique party theme. Your guests are in great hands with us, where everyone who wants to can take a turn. Please call 480–249–8068 to talk through the options.

Can I just show up?

We strongly encourage participants to sign up for classes in advance to avoid disappointment or inconvenience. Classes are often full. And classes with fewer than 3 participants may get combined with other sessions, meaning the class you thought you were coming for may not actually be running. The best way to fly when you want to fly is to book ahead! For last-minute availability call 480-249-8068.

What is your cancellation policy?

Classes and packages are nonrefundable. We require 24 hours notice to cancel a class; a credit will be reinstated to your account for future use. All class credits and packages expire October 1, 2023.

What happens if it rains?

We will do everything we can to run a class, but we are subject to the weather, and cannot run classes in heavy rain. If we do need to cancel for rain, we will help you reschedule your class to another time you have available.

What is the minimum age? Is there a maximum age?

We allow kids as young as 4 to fly on the trapeze, and there’s no maximum age! People of all ages are encouraged to try their hand on the flying trapeze!

Can I drop my kid off or do I need to stay to supervise them in between turns?

We ask that flyers 11 years or younger be supervised by a parent or guardian for the duration of the class. All minors need to be signed in by a parent before leaving.

Am I fit enough to fly?

There is no weight or fitness requirement, however if you have a history of shoulder, neck or back injuries, are pregnant, or have a heart condition or any other medical condition for which your doctor has asked you to restrict strenuous activities, we ask that you come participate as a spectator instead of as a flyer.

Is it safe?

Trapeze is one of the safest sports to learn. We have harnesses, fall arresters, an overhead line system, a large net built specifically for the trapeze, and highly trained coaches all to keep you safe and comfortable every moment you’re not on the ground.

Is it scary?

It’s thrilling! The flying trapeze is all about facing your fears and overcoming them! People often learn a lot about themselves on the trapeze and just how much they are capable of. We have a saying here : “First time for fear. Second time for fun!”

What should I wear? What about my hair? Is jewelry ok?

Wear dry athletic clothing that you can go upside down in. We recommend longer pants like yoga or workout pants or not-too-bulky sweatpants. Tank tops, t-shirts or workout tops work well. We don’t recommend crop tops as the safety belts can rub uncomfortably on skin. We recommend tying back your hair, so it stays out of your face. Watches & jewelry are not permitted on the rig; ideally leave these at home. Also we ask that you come to the trapeze dry, as we do not allow wet clothes on the rigging.

Can I wear sunscreen?

NO! Never put creams or sunscreen on your forearms, hands, feet or legs prior to a trapeze class. Sunscreen on hands is quite slippery and can transfer to the equipment. Our space is quite sunny, but we have shaded seating and plenty of fans to stay cool and out of the sun at the trapeze.

Can friends and family hang out and watch?

Of course! Friends and family cheering you on are always welcome.

When does the trapeze season end?

Our season extends well beyond other summer camps, into mid September, at least.

Do you have food/drinks available?

We don’t sell food or drinks, but you are welcome to bring your own, and we encourage you to bring plenty of water.
